A Really Quick Note on the Cold

The day after we went to the Forbidden City (numb feet day), our guide mentioned that on the news that evening they said it had been a 40-year record low in Beijing. (I might also mention that they don't heat places much -- not restaurants, cars, family homes. Brrrrr.)
